This was a really fun day spent shooting desert fashion, styling and makeup’ing on a beautiful beach in Dunbar. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and were so lucky as it had been non stop rain in the run up to the shoot, the sun definitely had his hat on this day. The shoot was for designer Elizabeth Martin Tweed aimed at showcasing her AW16 collection. Here’s what Elizabeth has to say about her brand-
“As a woman, there is no better feeling than slipping on a simple but expertly cut garment that inspires immediate confidence. This kind of timeless versatility in classic, neutral and tonal colours, is the staple of the Elizabeth Martin collection”
Makeup was all about radiant skin with a touch of warmth on the lips. I wanted it to look effortless but still tie in with the warm earthy tones of the surroundings which even though it is the beach looks like a desert. All a girl needs is a warm Harris Tweed coat and a splash of lipstick. I used the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone to give Victoria’s skin a natural glow paired with Tom Ford’s cream blush in Pink Sand. For the lips I chose Tom Ford’s Lipstick in Guillermo, a beautiful plumy brown with warm undertones. Hair was…windswept….it was very windy but it actually tied in well with the rest of the look.
Here is what Clare had to say about the photos-
“The photography on this shoot was great, we had such fabulous weather which made the light amazing. I used both natural light and when shooting with the sun behind, we then used flash to balance out the shadows. Using the sun and sun flare in a lot of the shots on this day was fun, it allowed us to get creative and make the most of each location. The whole team loved this shoot, but trust me it may look sunny and like a desert in these shots, but it was not. It was minus 2 degrees and sideways wind, so our lovely model Victoria deserves an award!”
